Last week, Uncle Grant and Aunt Paige brought home some baby chicks and guineas. We took Norah out to meet them Friday night and she loved them!

Uncle Grant even let Norah have some one-on-one-petting time. She was timid at first, but after she figured out that it was really alright to touch them, she really enjoyed herself.
I like to call this set of pictures, "My Uncle Grant is SO cool!"
These are the guineas. They have a pin of their own, separate from the chicks. Grant put a patch of grass in for them to eat. It was pretty funny watching them pull and peck with all their might to free a blade, and then run for the corner so they could horde it all to themselves.

Norah wasn't too keen on the big wall that separated her from the guineas, so she decided she was going in!

Those pictures are adorable! Man, i never got to pet baby chicks or anything cool like that when i was little...what a jip....
Yay, more guinneas at the old homestead. I can remember times we'd go up there and there would be flocks of guinneas (which make great watch dogs), several geese (which liked to stand outside whatever open window at Aunt Elvie's was closest to the family and honk as loud as possible) and about a zillion cats living on, around and under Barbara's porch. Man that place was so much fun visiting as a kid. I hope Norah has lots of cousins to play in the dirt with and Uncle Grant gets a cattle trailer and an old pig pen for them to play in and paint cow skulls in. She might even hang some lace curtains in a pig pen. It's been known to happen! (Ask Jason, Barbara and Grant if you need explanations on any of these!)
