We googled free "pumpkin carving templates" and let Norah choose her favorite design. Then, she and Daddy headed outside to commence with the carving.
Jason explained that the first step was cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin. He unsealed the "lid", and invited Norah to "dig in" with her scoop.

Norah headed to the bathtub...

Meanwhile, Daddy finished up the design she had requested.

As a side note, we have only seen "Blue's Clues" at most, three times, but I think she was just overjoyed to see a pumpkin template that had a kid's show motif featured on it.
Also, for the record, she knows it's really "Blue's Clues", but she insists on calling it "Clue's Clues". Haven't quite figured that one out yet...

She's just a teensy bit crazy about her sweet Daddy. (And, come to think of it, so am I!)
We rounded out the evening by watching "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" together. I think it was my first time to ever watch it all the way through. The trick-or-treat scene where Charlie keeps getting rocks, instead of candy, made me laugh out loud. (Thanks, Beck, for giving us the head's up that it was coming on!)

Very fun! And, what a nice looking pohnkin!
Funny, "Charlie Brown Pumpkin" is playing in the background right now. My kids got up supper early and I plopped them in my bed to watch it.
Sorry we missed out. Jason did a fantastic job and I'm glad Norah had so much fun. I love holidays!
You did such a great job on their costumes!...and the pumpkin is cute, too. So creative! I hope it is cooler there than it is here tonight for trick or treating. We're all going to be HOT!
Wow, awesome pumpkin! Good job, Dad!
You all did a great job! I love her word for pumpkin...so precious!
What a great pumpkin! Mine usually has the generic triangle eyes and crooked smile.
I love the pumpkin! Daddy and daughter duo did do a good job.
I'm glad SOMEBODY carved their pumpkins...I still have 2 sitting on my bar. Oh well...
Norah is precious, I can't wait to see that little baby.
