Eli has seemed very interested in Norah's artistic endeavors of late, so I decided it was time to give the boy a little creative outlet of his own. Since we're still working on getting his letters down, I thought it wouldn't hurt to draw a letter for him to paint. He didn't seem to mind the subject matter, and went straight to work. (Singing "A-A-A" to the tune of Jingle Bells, ala Elmo's World, as he worked)
He clearly relished the messy nature of painting. (although his finesse was a little lacking, if you'll note the paper folding up on itself while he intently continues to work) And yes, Mom R (since I am so sure you noticed) he did use his left hand for the majority of the time...
Except, of course when he switched to the "butter churn" technique...
This also seemed to be the point at which his countenance fell. Not exactly sure what went awry, but it was clear to me at this point that he wasn't 100% pleased with how things were working out.
Here he is bringing me his completed masterpiece. Judging by the "dirty diaper" hold he has on it, and that unmistakable pout on his face, he wasn't impressed with his product.
This was my favorite shot from the afternoon. I love the expression on his face. Mischievous, embarrassment, reluctance, and if you look closely, a tiny glimmer of pride. (Which makes me think maybe all he needed was for me to hang it on the fridge and tell him how great it was)

We have a little lefty too! ;)
I think his art work is gorgeous. Love the colors. :)
Your little Eli makes me smile and my heart happy and I don't even know him! Both of your kids seem so sweet. They must have good parents. :)
Awww....I'm with you - I love the last picture. I definitely saw the shy pride peeking through his expression. :)
