I currently have a card table under the couch in our living room (part of the transition of "Project Big Girl" has temporarily left me without a sewing desk, so I've been improvising) Norah discovered said card table yesterday, and managed to pull it out from under the couch, and had effectively locked 3 legs into place (the table was still upside down, but still!) when I found her. I decided since she was so intent on playing with the table, I'd construct her first-ever blanket fort.

Needless to say, she loved the idea. Of course, the first order of business was learning the proper method of entry/exit, which involved ducking her head, so as not to knock herself out. As you can see from the picture, she quickly mastered this technique.

Next, she was faced with the question of, "What exactly does one do in a blanket fort?" Her answer, apparently was, "Stick some scotch tape to one's forehead and rat-hole discarded bubble wrap", because that's what she proceeded to do.

I decided it was time to intervene. I asked her, "Norah, would you like to go get some toys to play with in your 'house?"' (that's what she named the blanket-fort) A mischievous look that was about 50% disbelief, 50% elation, spread across her face and she quickly emerged from the fort, raced down the hall, and returned with her favorite toys of the week. There, she happily resumed play. I think it was as much fun for me to watch her as it was for her to live it out. We'll definitely have to do the blanket-fort thing again sometime soon.

Aww...SO much fun! :) She's so cute.
Ahhh...the blanket fort...I choose to refer to this as one of my "sanity games" because it can really save you on a hot or rainy day! Glad Nora enjoyed it so much, it will be a great one to have in your arsenal.
Quite possibly the cutest, most well-constructed blanket fort Ive seen. Well done Angela!
