If the Shoe Fits...

Norah has seemingly made an amendment to the old adage, "If the shoe fits, wear it". The new and improved Norah version? "Whether or not the shoe fits, wear it". Lately the former "jam bandit" has taken to nicking any unshod shoes in sight, with no discrimination of size, color, or coordination with her current outfit (or lack thereof). Thus, I submit, for your entertainment, the following evidence of my case...

Daddy's Boots....

Mommy's Heels...

Grandma's Sunday Shoes...

Aunt Paige's Flip Flops...

Grandmother's Loafers...
All these photos were taken within about a 1-week span, and if I had had my camera ready, I could have had a few other people's shoes in our little showcase. She's into shoes right now...big-time.

You might also have noticed that in a couple of these she's proudly sporting her "big girl panties". (And no, we don't go out in public that way) We've (I say "we" as if I have much more to do with it than remembering to ask her if she needs to go) been working on potty training for the past week, and I'm pleased to report that we're accident-free for three days running. (Now, as sure I as I say that, I'm sure we'll require "Clean-up on aisle seven" at Wal-mart tomorrow) She even slept for 12-hours last night and woke up dry. Yea, Norah! One funny thing to note...thanks to our candy-bribe system, she seems to have a funny "Pavlov-like" development--she occassionally confuses "Candy" with "Potty". Several times she's told me she needs to go by exclaiming, "Candy!?" Thankfully, we caught on to this little glitch pretty quickly.

Aidan's into shoes today. We recently became the proud owners of leopard print shoes. She wears mine all the time.

You're lucky on the potty training front. Aidan is what, 7 months older, and will only potty at school. At home she announces that she needs to go after she's already gone. Any hints or tips you want to pass along? Big girl panties just make her realize that she's gone sooner than a pull-up. She can graduate high school in pull-ups, right? ;)

Tara-
Sorry I don't have much in the way of advice to offer. I think you hit the nail on the head--we're just lucky/blessed. She's been going on the potty for a few months, but the big girl panties sealed the deal for us. Once we switched to wearing them all the time, she just started controlling her bladder until our trips to the porcelain throne. (She did NOT like the feeling of being wet in something that didn't absorb)

Hi!
Gael loves shoes too and wears any shoe he sees, whether they be my heels or Daddy's smelly army combat boots :p
Maybe it's a phase every kid goes thru.
Congratulations on the potty training! I still haven't had the time to potty train my Gael (bad mommy, I know), but I wish I'd be able to, soon. POtty training means diaper budget savings :)
Anyway, enjoyed reading your blog and seeing Norah's pictures. God bless.
